Our Daily Bread Challenge for March 2013
Sometimes the challenges are extra challenging for me because of my limited cropping equipment. I don't have one of those fancy cutters, so when the challenge calls to use a scallop on my card, I either have to think a bit out of the (Cricut) box or pass. I decided to give it a go with my trusty craft scissors. Using craft scissors is frowned upon by some people, but I'm not one of them. :-)
The flag stickers were provided by Trader Joe's market. If you visit them at the right time they will give the stickers away at the cash register, and if you say what you are going to use them for, they will probably give you extra. I made the scallops by first cutting out the appropriate sized circles with a circle cutter, then carefully cutting around the edge of the circle with my craft scissors. The slightly off part of the circle where my cutting started and ended was conveniently covered by a gold ribbon.
I like your patriotic cards. I have accumulated many craft supplies but I still use my cutting scissors. I know how difficult it is to use them to make a scallop circle and you did it very well! Covering a mistake is a clever idea. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI never would've guessed those were decorative scissors. Great job using a freebie sticker and the star paper is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteAdele, your cutting skills are awesome! I would not have even attempted what you managed so beautifully. These cards are simple with a sharp focal point. Very nice job. PS I joined your site ;)
ReplyDeleteAdele, you did a great job cutting your scallops. I have not had much success with decorative edge scissors (actually I still mess up cutting a straight line sometimes...). Great Patriotic cards! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat patriotic cards. We can never have too many of those.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the ODBD challenge.
